I love to sing: do I have to be able to act to get a singing career?

I LOVE singing a lot. But i just want to sing. I want to act too, but
I want to sing more. I haven't had any classes and I know people in my
school who are better. Either way, everyone says that if I try, I can
sound just like a singer that wrote the song I'm singing. And it's
amazing. Help[?
